Unleash the potential of the polar scope for iOptron mounts. Suitable for use with the following series of mounts : iEQ, ZEQ, CEM, SkyGuider and SkyTracker. This app will calculate the positions of the polar reference stars - Polaris in the northern hemisphere and Sigma Octans in the southern hemisphere - and displays them on a reticle that simulates the reticle in iOptron polar scopes. Southern hemisphere users will especially appreciate the display of the octans asterism that assists the user in identifying Sigma Octans which at magnitude 5.3 is very hard to identify. To polar align their mount users need only to make sure that the view in their polar scope matches that presented by this app. This app features an astronomer friendly red on black colour scheme as well as the ability to manually set the location when location services are not available.
